We are off to England for a week to celebrate Christmas in the damp, cold, featureless wasteland of South Lincolnshire. We are still in t-shirts here. We must be crazy. But, as you can see by the picture of Anthony at last nights quiz, there are a lot of mental issues to be addressed.
See you in the New Year!

Regulars return
Great to see Derek and Judy who live near Falasana on the N.W. coast of Crete. They had been in the UK for a few months - welcome back. They are looking forward to their first Chrismas Day in Greece.
Surprise!! Pat & Dennis visited Paleochora for a night this week. They are here every summer but wanted to see Crete out of season. They have been chuffed with the weather but didn't brave the sea. Here they are having lunch with Val (centre)

Remember Keith?
I'm sure many of you will remember Keith who lived in Paleochora fro a few years. Well, congratulations are in order as he has (with B, his wife of course) produced a beautiful baby son called Felix.
First Quiz Night of Winter
Here are a lot of people racking their brains over an impossible quiz question. Bad photo as nearly everyone's face is hidden!

Let's start winter!
Well, we have had a bit of a rest (including a great few days camping at Falassana - pics to be posted) and we are almost ready to start our winter programme even though we were on the beach yesterday and even swimming so it doesn't fell too wintery yet!
Hopefully the first quiz night will be on Monday 20th November and we will start to open in the days on the following Friday.

Last Night 2006
That wraps up the season! Tomorrow, Jenny, the Boys & I go for our camping beach holiday for a week or so.
Please log on in the coming weeks as when I return I will be posting the end of season report in which I will look back at some of the highlights of the year and I will continue to blog as much as possible in the coming months. This is going to be a very interesting winter for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that we can share it with you all through this blog.
See you in a week or 10 days and keep clicking the ads!

Last Night 2006
Here are some of the folks who helped us celebrate the end of the Season!
First we have Steve, Sally & Millie who have a beautiful house at Kondoura
Next photo is Stephen & Olga with good friends form Scotland - Steve, Caroline, Lotte and Alistair who think we should start a restaurant in Edinburgh. Well, you never know!
Dave & Gina were on hand as well. Thanks for all the books and the bottle of bubbly! That will go down well on the beach next week!
I Don't know who these people are, I took the photo as I went past the table.

Better late than never!
Calypso & Paleochora regulars Dave & Gina eventually showed up - a little later than usual. This year they have travelled independently, finding a cheap flight and booking a room locally.
Adoram, from France and his lovely girlfriend Laura, from Italy, spent a stormy evening in Calypso with Laura's father.

Vic is here again & he's brought most of his family with him! Here he is enjoying a meal with his sister, Carmel, her husband, Paudie and Michael, his nephew.

Proud parents & grandparents
Brian & Frances are joined in their second week by daughter Charlie & husband Ryan along with toddler Luke who, by the time this photo was taken, had log since retired for the evening in his buggy. Sensible lad. I would do this often too if I had a buggy

Mediterranean Meze for 2
People ask us what is on our large Meze. Well, it changes a bit according to what we have got but to give you an idea, here's one Charlotte prepared earlier
The Wilkinsons are a familiar name here at Calypso. They have the good sense to always reserve a table and, quite often, pre-order the dishes they will want. At this time of year when most nights we are full, they avoid disappointment!
Brent & Wendy returned for their second holiday in Paleochora recently. Here they are just about to journey home. Whilst here, Wendy kicked her cigarette habit. Bravo girl! See you in the spring!

007 days? or 0014 days?
We had a visit from a group of agents today. They are not the secret kind, they are all travel agents on a fact -finding whistle-stop tour of Sunvil Holidays resorts here in Crete. It's a hard job but.........etc etc. Instead of saying they are 'licenced to kill', you could say they are 'licenced to dispatch' - you on your hols!

Easy, Tiger!
Two weeks after returning to the Uk with Ruth, Bob came back for another two weeks of fun & sun! Here he is on his last night surrounded by a veritable Calypso harem - (l-r) Charlotte, Sabina & Jenny.

I caught up with Ed & Rose last night. They last had a holiday here 2 years ago ( It doesn't seem that long!) and last year thay went to somewhere I will not mention (not a million miles away with a red flag). They have visited Calypso 4 or 5 times on this holiday but each time I have been looking after my boys. Good to finally see you and have a chat.

Paleochora regulars Denis and Pat were in last night for a bit of spice. Both enjoyed the Lamb curry - good job they pre-ordered it!
Viking Invasion!!!!!
We played host to 20 people on holiday in Paleochora from Norway last night. They comprise of 4 families and come to Crete every year. Thankfully there was little in the way of raping and pillaging going on and they behaved themselves impeccably!
