Cheerio for now, Vic

Our old mate Vic has been in town for a couple of weeks to visit Molly. He has to return to commitments in Ireland but will be back here again in October. Keep logging on, Vic! Posted by Picasa

Anyone in the West Midlands should tune in to the Annie Othen Mid-Morning show on BBC FM Coventry & Warwickshire on Monday 28th about 10:30 am. when, in all likelihood, Barry will be interviewed live on air. (Are they crazy?)

Welcome back to Paleochora to Bill (Right) and Lou (left) for a week's holiday joining good friends John & Eileen. Bill owns a successful food business which specialises in film set and location catering. So normally he is feeding the stars but last night we fed him under the stars. Sorry, best pun I could think of. It was a late night! Posted by Picasa

Hello again to John & Eileen who are here for 3 weeks. They are looking forward to meeting up with Bill & Lou who are due this week.
During some of our busy nights, Rosie, who is here on holiday has come in to help out and get the feel of working in a restaurant. She is thinking of travelling around next year and hopes to find work as she goes. Thanks, Rosie, you were a great help on our truly manic nights! Posted by Picasa

Last Night Blues 2

It was also the last night of The Williamson's holiday (Peter, Nikki & Finn are pictured here - Olivia is off partying somewhere!). We are also saying a sad farewell to Mike and Gail (Mike at the top of the table, Gail hiding behind Peter on the right). Kari & Elizabeth joined the party to rub it in that they still have almost a week left! Posted by Picasa

Last Night Blues

Looking more like two sisters, Mum, Lynn and daughter, Scarlett spent the last evening of their holiday at Calypso. They have vowed to return for another holiday - maybe next year? Oh, by the way, I tried to e-mail this photo to you but it keeps being returned. Could you e-mail me with your e-mail address please? Posted by Picasa

Joel - The Burger King (at last)

Speech therapist, Richard, Broadcaster Annie and their son Joel have a house in the mountains behind Paleochora. We first met them 6 years ago just after we arrived here. For the past few summers, Joel has been trying (and narrowly failing) to attain the honour of being a Calypso Burger King (eating the lot, including fries with no help from friends, family or passing animals). Well, last night he did it! Bravo Joel! Posted by Picasa
Raymond is in Paleochora each year and is a regular Calypso customer. We always look forward to seeing him. This year, he is having a split holiday between here and the north coast of Crete.
Stephen and Olga met up with some old friends, Rik & Karen, by chance the other day and decided to celebrate the fact by having a meal and catching up in Calypso. Rik is a professional musician so, who knows, maybe he will give permission for some of his work to go on to our mix? Posted by Picasa

Ahoy there!

My little boys, Jojo & Freddie were very excited to be on a boat trip to spot dolphins (one of the neat things to do here while on holiday). Were unlucky on this occasion but there's always the next time.

Extra Service

You will see that we have added several more links from our blog, over there on the right hand side.

There are links to Kosmar holidays' Paleochora site on their online brochure, a dedicated weather site for Paleochora and the site for Paleochora tourist information which lists several of the bettter places to stay in town.

You can search the web with Google directly from here by using the Google Search Box

Also you can download Mozilla Firefox - the web browser we use and the fabulous photo sorting and editing programme Picassa 2 from Google which we use to sort, enhance and publish all of the photos on the blog. Just click on the relevant links on the right.

Kari & her friend Elizabeth from Norway are here again. Lovely to see you! Kari holidays here almost every year (twice last year) usually with her daughter Sunnivar who, this year, is living on a very remote island of the coast of Norway. Hi if you are logging on, Sunnivar! Posted by Picasa

Nikos, from Candia Trade, proudly shows his company T-shirt and wants everyone in Hania to know that when he comes down to Paleochora, he works and doesn't spend the day at the beach! Posted by Picasa

Look out, Gavdos!

Vasso and Marianna from Athens are headed to Gavdos today for 10 days of partying and relaxation. Kalo taxhidi, tell us all about it when you get back to civilization! Posted by Picasa

We feel that music is important when going out for a good time & we select a mix of music for the restaurant which we hope will appeal to a broad range of our customers.

We have had several requests for the playlists so.... we have the complete Calypso evening playlist (over 300 songs in WMA & MP3 format) on 2 CDs which cost 10 euros inc. p&p. Just send us a 10 euro note with your address by registered post if you want a copy to: Barry & Jenny, Post Restante, Paleochora 73001, Hania, Crete, Greece.

Unfortunately we can not suppy the playlist in standard audio format.
