Well, she can walk past the restaurant just as many times as she likes!
A wonderful, warm, balmy evening and Brian the street-seller sets up his Jewellery
stand. Brian returned from India this week so it must be summer. And, no, he didn't arrive on that boat.
Pete & Marlene popped in for lunch and, in doing so, became our latest Calypso Burger King and Burger Queen!
Remember the rules are you have to finish everything on the plate without any help from friends, family or passing animals. Marlene did leave a few fries which you can see her trying to hide on the photo but we let her off partly because she's only little and the burger she ate constituted a larger percentage of her body mass than that of Pete but mainly because we are the judges and we like her.
Every Sunday between 12 and 4 we are inviting people to the Calypso Sunday BrunchWe will be cooking traditional English breakfasts with real English sausages, English back bacon, eggs, beans, fried bread & mushrooms. Jumbo Sausage, eggs, chips & beans, and Mega bacon sandwiches and mega sausage sandwiches.
Come & enjoy some cool music and discuss the football, what you did on Saturday night, or life in general. Also read one of the complimentary sunday newspapers we will have out on the terrace.
Unusually for June, we got a big thunderstorm in Paleochora yesterday. Rain poured down for a few minutes and everywhere was awash. luckily it passed quickly & dried up by evening.
Hansleo and Amelie, from the Black Forest area of Germany have been in town for 5 weeks and they still have another week left. For good reason - they got married in Paleochora during their first week and this is their honeymoon. Talking of moons, they had their cameras ready to photograph the red moonrise last night but it experience cloud problems (what, in June?). Better luck tonight, guys.
The Hummel family with Burger king Manu (centre) See post below.
Honeymoon couple Thomas & Sofia from Washington DC stopped by for a meal. Finally, Thomas got a rare steak on Crete!
Last night we had one of those skies where, at sunset, there was a little cloud which reflected the sun's dying rays on to the sea sending it purple. Beautiful!
This looks about right at the moment...........in another couple of weeks..........
